20 Toadshade Trillium Bulbs – Sessile Trillium for Shade Gardens, Zones 3-9

Overview

Introduce a touch of native elegance to your shaded landscape with this offering of 20 Toadshade Trillium Bulbs. The Toadshade Trillium, or Trillium sessile, is a fascinating perennial wildflower known for its distinctive appearance and early spring bloom. Unlike many other trillium species, the flowers of the sessile trillium plants lack a prominent stalk, appearing to sit directly atop the three large, mottled leaves. This unique characteristic gives them their common name, toadshade, and makes them a captivating addition to any woodland or shade garden. These bulbs promise to bring a subtle yet striking beauty to your outdoor space, creating a naturalized feel that is both charming and low-maintenance. The deep purple to maroon flowers, though appearing closed, offer an intriguing visual contrast against the lush green foliage, blooming reliably from April to June.
